Harkening back to the late ’80s when Charvel® guitars were manufactured exclusively in Japan, we introduce the all-new MJ Series DK24 HSH 2PT E Mahogany with Figured Walnut. Attentively crafted in Japan and exquisite in style, the MJ Series blends Charvel’s unparalleled legacy of designing high-performance instruments with an assortment of top-end features.
Designed to facilitate the most virtuosic of playing styles, the Charvel Pro-Mod DK24 HSH 2PT E Mahogany With Figured Walnut features a stunning Wenge neck, which utilizes Charvel’s ultra-slick “Speed” profile. Rolled fretboard edges and a hand-rubbed oil finish to the back of the neck ensure unimpeded progress up and down the scale. A 12″-16″ Compound Radius fretboard – constructed from figured Streaky Ebony – ensures intuitive chording and string bends, wherever you find yourself among the 24 jumbo frets.
Tonally, this guitar is loaded with three Custom Seymour Duncan pickups in HSH configuration. Controlled via a five-way switch, a Full Shred™ SH-10B humbucker is fitted in the bridge position, complemented by a Flat Strat® SSL-6 Single-Coil in the middle and Alnico II Pro™ APH-1N humbucker in the neck. With the neck and bridge splitting their coils when the pickup selector is set to positions 2, 3 and 4, the result is a vast array of top shelf Seymour Duncan tonal options.
The hardware on this guitar is also worth a mention. Appropriately, for a Japanese-made instrument, Gotoh pieces are used for the tremolo and tuning machines, finished in gold for a premium look. The Gotoh Die-Cast Locking tuners offer silky-smooth action, while the locking mechanism ensures rock-solid tuning stability and lightning-fast string changes. The Gotoh Custom 510 Tremolo is a masterpiece of clean Japanese design, improving the functionality and usability of the two-pivot, six-block tremolo for the discerning guitarist.
