One of Guild’s first dreadnought guitars
The Guild D-20 6-string acoustic guitar is a modern version of the very first dreadnought model to ever be produced by Guild’s Westerly, Rhode Island, factory in 1967. And it appropriately coincides with the reintroduction of US-manufactured instruments for Guild Guitars. Even many of the materials and machines used in the crafting of the D-20 acoustic guitars came from the original Westerly factory and were responsible for many of the company’s earlier models. Je Matt Guitar is proud to offer you this piece of Guild’s history.
Straightforward mahogany construction
The D-20’s neck, top, back, and sides are constructed entirely from solid mahogany. This tonewood was chosen for its centered tone that exudes warmth without ever becoming muddy and clarity that never sounds shrill. The rosewood fretboard and bridge further help to enhance the guitar’s harmonic overtones, and the D-20’s appearance is as warm and inviting as its tone. Minimal aesthetic appointments give the instrument a vintage look that works as beautifully onstage as it does around a campfire.
Powerful dreadnought body
The Guild D-20’s dreadnought body construction is one of the most popular designs among flat-top acoustic guitars. Its larger width and depth enhance low-end frequencies for a warm tone that moves a lot of air. This extra power is ideal for single-note lines and strumming when you want the guitar’s natural voice to really project. Whether you’re a singer/songwriter who needs a great strummer for self accompaniment or a bluegrass picker wanting a warmer tone, the D-20 dreadnought may just be the guitar you’re looking for.
