The miniature Jumbo body is topped with a fine piece of solid Sitka Spruce with stunning layered flamed Maple back and sides. The back is arched which helps both structural strength and acoustic performance. Bone is used for both nut and saddle which gives the Jumbo Junior a piano like ring to it. Ebony is used for the fingerboard and bridge and the Maple neck has a very comfortable profile. At just 37 inches long, the Jumbo Junior is a very neat little acoustic bass but it’s unplugged performance impresses. It has a rich woody quality with volume you wouldn’t expect from such a small instrument. The active piezo pickup system has a volume and tone control tucked away inside the soundhole. Guild chose a solid Sitka spruce top and arched flamed maple back to mirror the tonewoods that have been used in upright bass construction for centuries, resulting in a clear, tight bass tone that is impressive for its reduced size. The back, sides and neck are finished in a satin antique blonde finish, which adds a rich depth and unique character to the wood’s figure.

The Jumbo Junior Bass’s deep voice can be amplified or recorded using its onboard Guild AP-1 Active Acoustic Piezo pickup system with built in volume and tone controls.
