THE Guild Starfire V Guitar IS A SEMI HOLLOW BODY GUITAR WITH A BIGSBY STYLE VIBRATO TAILPIECE.
This marks the welcome return of a highly popular semi-hollow Guild classic, with a graceful double-cutaway thinline body and incomparable tone and feel. The original Guild Starfire V with Vibrato was prized by many guitarists from the mid-1960s onward as a distinctively rocking instrument, and its spirit and design pervade this new model. Other premium features include a rock-solid three-piece neck, LB-1 Little Bucker pickups and the classically brilliant Cherry Red finish. Newark St. models are handcrafted instruments with authentic Guild electric tone and superior feel. Premium features include authentic Guild body shapes, arch radii and neck profiles; authentically vintage-style pickups and hardware; improved playing action ideal for today’s alternative styles, and more.
This Guild Starfire V semi-hollowbody, based on the original Starfire from the 1960s, has all the mojo that made the original such a popular guitar during the rock revolution. The dual humbuckers and thinline construction make this instrument suitable for rock as well as country or blues.
Multi-piece necks are stronger and more stiff than single-piece necks, allowing them to resist twisting and warping over time. If you take care of it, the Guild Starfire V semi-hollowbody will provide you with a lifetime of outstanding playability.
The Guild Starfire IV features a pair of hum-cancelling LB-1 “Little Bucker” pickups. The Little Buckers were originally conceived in the 1960s as an alternative to single-coil pickups. The output is somewhere in the middle of a single-coil and a vintage-style PAF humbucker, with more jangle than a PAF and a little more warmth than a typical single-coil. When you consider the 3-way pickup selector, you’ll realize how wonderful the Starfire IV can sound in almost any genre.
