The Hagstrom Swede Bass in black is a short scale bass with a classic single-cut design. Hagstrom’s own DynaRail AlNiCo-5 Humbucking Pickups provide acres of thick tone, while coil tap ensures a high level of versatility, further enhanced by the 3-way tone switch. Hagstrom’s unique sustain block tailpiece provides each string with a solid brass block, isolated from the other strings to maximize its own sonic voice. The overall result is a bass which carves its own path, making a convincing and usable performance instrument.

Featuring a short, 30.75 inch (781mm) scale length, the all mahogany, set-neck Swede Bass offers enormous sustain and easy play-ability. One of the most important traits inherited from the Swede guitar is Hagstrom’s classic tailpiece design with its massive blocks directly coupled to the body for optimal transmission of string energy, a key contributor to the Swede Bass’s thunderous, piano-like tones.

Pickups on the Swede Bass are derived from its not-too-distant cousin, the Viking Bass, and will delight players looking for sonic versatility; from classic to modern, these pickups deliver it all. Include a 3-way tone switch, another genetic contribution from the Swede Bass’ brother, and you have an easy-to-use, and easy-to-play source for your next collection of great bass sounds. On top of it all you can coil split the humbuckers to single coil mode, individually for neck and bridge pickups, by a pull on the respective Tone potentiometer knob.
