As evidenced by its long-standing association with such giants of jazz guitar as George Benson, Pat Metheny, and John Scofield, Ibanez has been a constant pioneer in the world of hollow-body guitar building for more than three decades.

Part of that legacy is owed to the Artcore collection, which has succeeded in smashing any and all preconceptions in its wake as to what a great hollow or semi-hollow ought to be. The Artcore formula builds on equal parts luthiery know-how, daring design, and a passion for warm, full-bodied tone.

The AF55 features a select-grade Linden hollow body, a set-in Mahogany neck and Indian Laurel fingerboard contribute to the warm-sounding characteristics. Ibanez designed the Infinity R pickups to give you big, full tone and well-balanced output.

The AF is the most traditional of the Artcore hollowbody guitar series. The traditional full-hollow construction means there are no sound blocks in the body. Producing rich and complex tones, the AF is the guitar for the purist in all of us. Ibanez introduced Artcore in 2002 and has been the hollowbody guitar of choice for musicians since. The Artcore’s combination of quality workmanship and affordability has created legions of fans from diverse genres as blues, country, rock and jazz. Musicians can find the purity of an old school style jazz-box to a hybrid semi-hollow rocker.
