To honor the world-renowned Joe Satriani Signature Series, the Ibanez R&D team worked closely with Joe to develop a finish that was worthy of Joe’s approval. Each and every JS2GD Gold Boy will have passed stringent Ibanez quality control standards, however due to the unique nature of this striking finish, some minor imperfections may be expected, and are considered normal.

You’ll find that the JS neck profile on the JS2GD gives you a solid fretting foundation while allowing you to play as fast as you like.As a 1-piece maple neck, the JS2GD comes with a slight edge in sustain and tone over a multi-piece neck, with a smooth rosewood fingerboard that enables effortless playability. What’s more, the feel of this neck is enhanced by Ibanez’s Prestige fret-edge treatment, an extra step to ensure maximum playing comfort and long-term playability. The process essentially rounds the fret ends much more precisely than is possible by hand filing. The guitarists at Sweetwater have discovered that the more you play the JS2GD, the more “right” it feels!

Three Dimarzio pickups power this golden axe, sporting a FRED in the bridge position that delivers a fiery high-output punch that’s perfect for soaring lead lines and crunchy rhythms. Two Satch Track humbuckers offer a clear, expressive tone that perfectly complements the FRED’s power, and since every pickup comes with its own on/off switch, this guitar offers a seriously impressive range of sounds. Coupled with the push/pull coil tap switch, the JS2GD delivers 14 distinct combinations, from straight-ahead bridge chunk to quacky in-between tones. What’s more, the volume pot’s built-in high-pass filter cleans up your tone and enables the JS2GD to easily cut through even the busiest of mixes.
