THE SEMI ACOUSTIC REVEREND CLUB KING 290 WITH BIGSBY FEATURES A SEMI HOLLOW KORINA BODY AND A SOLID SPRUCE TOP.
Reverend make some of the most eye catching guitars out there. The Club King 290 is no different. It has a distinctive slim-line semi hollow Korina body. It is a fraction smaller than a traditional semi. The body comes with a 3-Tone Burst finish. A solid spruce top has been fixed onto the body for improved acoustic tone. Bolted onto the body of the Reverend Club King 290 is a Roasted Maple neck with Rosewood fretboard. The fretboard features a twelve inch radius while the scale length comes in at 25.5″.
The Reverend Club King 290 has a Roasted Maple neck
The Reverend Club King 290 Bigsby 3-Tone Burst has a Roasted Maple neck. This is a real stand out feature. Roasted Maple is normally found on custom shop and high-end boutique guitars. Reverend have brought this material to a price bracket never seen before. This is the smoothest, silkiest neck you will ever feel. Trust us, these are the best necks this side of $3000! The Roasted Maple that Reverend have used has been kiln dried to remove most of the moisture. This results in a neck that is resistant to temperature and humidity. The advantages also include stability, increased resonance and lighter weight. The process also gives the Maple a beautiful caramel color and makes the grain of the wood really pop.
Upgraded hardware
Throughout the past few years Reverend have continually upgraded the entire line of instruments. These changes include a new Boneite nut, which reduces friction and has a resonant response similar to that of bone. A new 3 abreast string tree, Etched Reverend logo on the 6 bolt neck plate, new improved contact jack socket and etched jack plate, upgraded pots and electronics, and new lower profile controls.
Bigsby, Alnico P90 pickups, Locking Tuners and a Bass Contour Control
The Reverend Club King 290 Three Tone Burst comes fitted with a classic Bigsby B50 tremolo bridge. Reverend have cleverly used a custom spring to help with feel and tuning stability. The fitted locking tuners and roller bridge also help keep things stable. The Club King features two great sounding P90 pickups. These new 9A5 Alnico P90’s are warmer with a more vintage tone. The Bass Contour control completely revoices the pickups by rolling off some bass frequencies.
The Reverend Club King 290 with Bigsby is a lot of guitar at a very reasonable price. Great playability and tone with some unique looks really make it stand out.
