REVEREND JW1 JENN WASNER SIGNATURE OPTIC INTERRUPTION
Jenn Wasner is a talented multi-instrumentalist from Baltimore, Maryland. She is a founding member of the band Wye Oak and performs solo under the name Flock Of Dimes. The Reverend JW1 is based on the Charger HB model with a very special paint job! The solid Korina body features a top design created by April Camlin, a textile artist in Baltimore who created Jenn’s stage wear. When Jenn plays this guitar on stage you can see why they called the finish Optic Interruption! The black and white design is across the top only and no pickguard is fitted. The top edge of the body features cream binding with the back and sides painted gloss black.
2 Special H Humbuckers with Bass Contour Control
The Reverend JW1 Jenn Wasner Signature Optic Interruption features two of Reverend’s HA5 humbuckers. The HA5 in the bridge is wound slightly hotter than vintage for extra drive and punch. Warm but open tone with excellent clarity. The HA5 in the neck has warm but open tone with slightly relaxed mids and excellent clarity. The HA5 is slightly underwound for the neck position. Both humbuckers are wired to a simple 3 way blade switch with volume and tone control. On the upper bout you’ll find a third control pot, the famous Reverend bass contour control! The bass contour allows you to roll off the lower bass frequencies which really thins out the tone and adds some spank! You can effectively dial the humbuckers down to a single coil and anywhere in-between. This turns the Reverend JW1 in to a far more versatile guitar than first meets the eye.
A 25.5″ scale Dark Roasted Maple neck is fitted with a Rosewood fretboard and 22 medium jumbo frets. The fretwork on Reverend’s guitars is flawless which allows you to get the action as low as you like without any problems. Reverend’s new Boneite nut reduces friction whilst still transferring the tone of the strings through the guitar. It’s more durable than graphite whilst having a more traditional tone and appearance. Along with high quality locking machine heads and a fixed Tune-O-Matic with Stop Tail bridge, you do not need to worry about the Jenn Wasner Signature guitar going out of tune. String changes are rapid and it make this a real workhorse of a professional instrument.
It’s great to see Reverend working with an artist such as Jenn Wasner and we’re delighted to be stocking this model at Je Matt Guitar. Come in and see for yourself!
