The Schecter PT Special is here presented in a 3-Tone Sunburst Pearl (3TSBP), Aqua Burst Pearl (AQBP) and Purple Burst Pearl (PBP) finish with Maple fretboard and 3-ply parchment pickguard. Blending classic Tele looks and tone with a few tasteful Schecter upgrades, this guitar will suit those looking for authentic tone without sacrificing modern features. Complementing the VT-1 bridge single-coil is a V-90 soapbar in the neck position, adding some fat single-coil vibes to the mix. A 12” radius fretboard facilitates much more intuitive technical playing than a classic radically-curved ‘board.
The Schecter PT Special is now available from Je Matt Guitar, online and in our Los Angeles store. Visit us in our store, where a member of staff will be happy to talk you through its features. SCHECTER PT SPECIAL
There’s an immediate familiarity to the Schecter PT Special in 3-Tone Sunburst Pearl, making the traditionally-minded guitarist feel right at home off the bat. Tonally, it doesn’t disappoint either, the bridge pickup producing that beloved Tele single-coil twang and snarl. Switch to the neck pickup, and things begin to change, the V-90 soapbar injecting some thicker, creamier tones into the mix. A Series-Parallel Push-Pull tone knob further enhances the guitar’s tonal versatility.
In terms of construction, the PT Special features a stunning – and increasingly rare – Swamp Ash body, which exhibits that distinctive Ash figuring. A traditional 25.5” scale Maple neck is bolted to the body, and topped with a 12” radius Maple fretboard. The comfortable ‘C’-shaped neck profile and flatter fretboard produce an extremely comfortable playing experience, perfect for the modern technically-advanced guitarist.
For many, brass saddles are a must on a T-style guitar, and the Schecter PT Special doesn’t disappoint, producing that distinctive brass-saddle tonal response. Grover Vintage tuners also look the part on the headstock, adding the final touch to the guitar’s tasteful blend of tradition and modernity.
